HELP! - "First Dance Nerves"

The first dance is an important part of any wedding. It is often a big worry for some couples who may not be particularly good dancers or perhaps a little shy, especially with all the attention focused on them.

There is no need to panic about your first dance! The Wondertones have many ideas to ease the pressure if you are worried, as follows:

1. Don’t panic about learning to dance…you are not expected to be Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers! The first dance is usually only a simple shuffle around the dance floor! Your friends and family just want another photo opportunity of you both together!

2. Pick a song that is simple and easy for you and your partner to move to, and a song that you both like.

3. Make sure that the lyrics of the first dance song are appropriate. The Wondertones will advise you about this.

4. The Wondertones have a great selection of first dance songs, and we can also learn 1 special song subject to a notice period of 4 weeks. Some songs may not be suited to the band i.e. big band music / swing and we can play this type of music on CD if you so wish.

5. When the Bride and Groom have danced for a verse and chorus of the first dance song, The Wondertones can introduce the rest of your bridal party onto the dance floor to ease the pressure on the couple!

6. If the bridal party have children, it could be nice to have the children to dance the first song!

Above all, don’t panic about the first dance. If you are nervous just tell The Wondertones and we will immediately put you at ease!
