The Wondertones top tips for wedding bliss:

The First Dance: You are not expected to be Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers! The first dance is usually a simple shuffle around the dance floor. Pick a song that you both like with appropriate lyrics. A short up-beat ditty is a great crowd pleaser, slower songs should be curtailed to about 3 minutes. Definitely do not have a second slow song, your guests will get bored and just sit down!

Picking a good DJ: A good DJ will be ready to play the second the band finish. They will interact with your guests and avoid playing songs that the band already played. The key difference with a good DJ is that they will understand that your reception is not a nightclub and will cater for all into the small hours.

Picking a good band: A good band will gauge your audience from the stage and adjust their set to suit your crowd. The obvious thing to do in this instance is to book The Wondertones!

Speeches: Long speeches are incredibly boring! A good guide is about 10 – 15 minutes per speech, any longer and your guests will just leave and start chatting with The Wondertones in the foyer!

The Dance Floor: Sometimes your guests may need encouragement to hop on the dance floor! It is great when the bridal party are dancing and keeping the floor going! Have the groomsmen and bridesmaids tipped to support the dance floor during the night ;)

The top 3 first dance songs of 2014/2015:

1. Ed Sheeran: “Thinking out loud”
2. John Legend: “All of Me”
3. Jason Mraz: “I won’t give up”
